Pest control technician

As a pest control technician, you will:

• do site surveys to identify the cause and scale of problems
•  work out the best way to treat infestations
•  set traps, control devices or use chemicals to clear an area
•  remove dead animals and send samples for analysis where required
•  advise customers on how to prevent further problems
•  complete accurate reports of work carried out

• to be thorough and pay attention to detail
• the ability to work on your own
• the ability to work well with others
• the ability to accept criticism and work well under pressure
• patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• knowledge of public safety and security 
• excellent verbal communication skills
• to be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device

A driving licence may be required for some roles.
